Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Jaime Bautista led the opening of the new EDSA Busway Station— the Tramo Busway Station in Pasay City, yesterday, December 28, 2022.
“I am thankful to our supporters— in MMDA, i-ACT, LTFRB, and I am thankful to the bus operators, because they are the ones who will really support our operations so that we can give convenient, affordable, accessible, and safe travel experience to our riders here in EDSA,” according to Secretary Baptist.
Secretary Bautista also said that this new station will help to facilitate the boarding and dropping of passengers near Tramo Busway Station.
“This bus stop will give convenience to our riders so that those who get off and ride in this area will not walk far,” according to Secretary Bautista.
DOTr Undersecretary for Road Transport and Infrastructure Mark Steven Pastor thanked for the support of such a project and promised to continue to take steps to improve and improve the EDSA busway system.
“We also want to emphasize that Secretary Bautista continues to give us directives to fix and improve our EDSA Busway. If this last six months starting the term of our Secretary this will be our fourth additional bus stop in the busway,” according to Usec. Pastor.
According to Usec. Pastor, with the cooperation of DOTr, LTFRB, I-ACT, MMDA and DPWH the EDSA Busway system has reached 17 bus stops and is able to provide service to more than 300,000 passengers every day.
“The MMDA assured our full support. Rest assured that we remain a strong and dynamic partners to serve our people better especially the commuting public. We pledge to extend our time, effort and resources for the better service to our people today and tomorrow,” ang ibinahagi naman ni Metropolitan Manila Development Authority General Manager Procopio Lipana.
Meanwhile, Secretary Bautista shared that starting January 1, 2023 at 5:00 in the morning, EDSA Busway Carousel will be paid.
